Wood types used in the production of mathematical figures are shown here. These samples are only vaguely representative, as these woods can have a wide variety of looks. This variability is considered an asset, not a detriment, is producing interesting and unique wood figures. In choosing light and dark colors for constrasting patterns, maple and ash should be considered for the light color.
